This is what you and porpor agree on. We keep it short and readable. When you create a profile, you agree to these terms. They apply to the porpor app for iPhone and Android.
In short
- You are 13 or older.
- Be decent to each other. Bullying, hate, threats and sexual stuff don't belong on porpor.
- See something that's not okay? Report it. We look at every report and can delete an account.
- porpor is free, with no ads and no purchases.
- If you don't open porpor for 12 months, we delete your account.
Who we are
porpor is made by GeNx BV, Bredestraat 161, 2620 Hemiksem, Belgium (VAT BE0675.675.373). Questions? Email help@porpor.be.
Who porpor is for
You may use porpor if you are 13 or older. You confirm that when you create your profile. We do not ask for a date of birth, because we want to know as little about you as possible. If we notice that an account belongs to someone younger than 13, we delete it.
In some countries you can only decide about your own data at a later age: from 15 in France, from 16 in the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg. If you are younger, first ask a parent or guardian whether it is okay and read these terms together.
Your account
- Your account is anonymous and lives on your phone. There is no email and no password. If you lose your phone without moving your account, we can't get it back.
- An account is for one person. Don't pass it on.
- With your code, someone can become your bestie. Only share it with people you know. If it ended up with the wrong person, get a new one in the settings.
What's not allowed
This goes for everything you put on porpor or send: your nickname, your emoji, messages, words and drawings in a game, and your location.
- Bullying, insulting, threatening or harassing someone.
- Hate or discrimination, for example about origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation or a disability.
- Sexual or violent stuff. We always report sexual content of or about minors to the police.
- Pretending to be someone else.
- Spam or advertising.
- Sharing someone else's private details, such as an address or a phone number.
- Anything the law forbids.
- Cheating: hacking the app, having a script fake pors or scores, or skewing the top lists in any other way.
We don't tolerate this. A nickname with a swear word is refused automatically.
Reporting and blocking
- Block. Open a bestie's profile and choose "Block". You stop being besties and can't add each other again. The other person isn't notified.
- Report. You can do that on a bestie's profile, with the little flag on a por with a message, and in a game. To report a nickname or emoji on a top list, press and hold that row.
We look at every report, normally within 24 hours. Anyone who doesn't stick to these terms can lose their nickname or their account, in serious cases without a warning. Anything that is a criminal offence, we can pass on to the police.
Don't feel safe? Talk about it with someone you trust. If there is danger, call 112.
What you send
What you send stays yours. You give us the permission needed to make porpor work: delivering your por to your bestie, and showing your nickname and emoji to your besties and on the top lists. A message, a location and the content of a game are deleted as soon as they have been seen. If someone reports you, we keep a copy of what the report is about. All the details are in the privacy policy.
Streaks, badges and top lists
They are there for fun. They have no value in money and you can't trade them in or pass them on. We can change their rules, and remove scores that came from cheating.
Leaving porpor
You can delete your account at any time, in the app: Settings, then "Delete my account". If you don't open porpor for 12 months and don't send a por in that time, we delete your account automatically. No longer have the app? The Delete your account page tells you what you can do.
Free, and as it is
porpor is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. We do our best to keep porpor running well, but we can't promise that everything always works. A por can arrive late or get lost. So never use porpor for anything urgent or for an emergency. We can change the app, add or remove features, and shut porpor down one day.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damage caused by using porpor, by an outage or by what other users do or send. That does not apply to damage caused by our intent or our gross negligence. Your rights as a consumer always remain in place.
Changes
We can change these terms, for example when the app changes. The new version will then be on this page, with the date at the top. If you keep using porpor after that, you agree to the new version. If you don't agree, delete your account.
Which law applies
Belgian law applies to these terms. If you live in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection of the laws of that country.
